The Lucketts Community Center Advisory Board is a volunteer community service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all members of the Lucketts community by providing resources for recreational, educational, cultural and charitable activities.

LCCAB -- What We Do

Advisory Board volunteers advise and support the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services.  Our primary functions are aimed at fundraising and channeling resources back into the community through community center programs and use of the community center facility to serve our community.

LCCAB Events

The LCCAB is perhaps best known for sponsoring the Lucketts Fair www.luckettsfair.com.  For 35 years, friends and neighbors in and around our small village have put on this old-fashioned country fair to benefit the Old Lucketts School, which houses the community center and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Fair is a treasured summer tradition that brings our community together and provides a fundraising venue for numerous local organizations. 

LCCAB has also historically sponsored the Lucketts Bluegrass Series – live bluegrass in the old schoolhouse every Saturday night in October through April. In 2007, a new Lucketts Bluegrass Foundation formed to continue this great tradition, with funds transferred from LCCAB.

LCCAB is Preserving the Historic Building and Park

The Lucketts Community Center Advisory Board actively works to preserve the Old Lucketts School building, which now serves as the Lucketts Community Center, our “Town Center.” The historic building and surrounding grounds are in constant need of improvement to support the activities of our thriving community.

Funds raised by the Advisory Board have been used over the years to restore and maintain the Old Lucketts School building (e.g. building and electrical upgrades, stage renovation) and to purchase land for the community park which offers ball fields and a bike/running path. Recently, the Advisory Board paid to build a bathroom in the childcare room and has committed funds to upgrade the kitchen.

LCCAB is Investing in the Lucketts Community

LCCAB provides funds for preschool, daycare and camp scholarships, striving to make early educational programs at the community center accessible to every family in our community. We also support other programs and organizations that benefit our community. LCCAB has provided more than $15,000 to establish and fund an English for Families program. LCCAB also makes financial contributions to organizations such as the Lucketts Elementary School PTA, Scouts, the Lucketts Volunteer Fire Department and several area shelters.

Anyone is welcome to attend LCCAB meetings which are held on the third Tuesday of each month at the Community Center.
